Hi! I'm Ali,
Short for Alison,
but please don't call me that,
it's a word that fills me with dread and the
thought of being in trouble.
I laugh at things I probably shouldn't, am a little bit obsessed with my iPhone,a strong believer in karmaand Love cake (no preference, just cake)
long lazy days down the
beach and monkey puzzle trees.
I don't love over use of exclamation marks and anyone
who upsets my boys.
If I were a dessert, I'd be a rice pudding; a little bit Welsh,
a big bit English, not too fancy and easy going.
Most people don't know this but I once did a magic trick
with Brian Cant and have a mild phobia of bridges.
Most importantly, I'm a 30 something mum to 3 boys
A skateboard loving, computer game playing, messy haired dismantler of all things. His bedroom scares me but he is fab at fetching things from high shelves for me. Wants to be a pro skater one day.
Tween
He's taken on his brother's Lego construction business and his dad's Spiderman and Batman obsession. He gives fantastic cuddles and wants to buy a house next door to me when he grows up.
Our late addition but much longed for 3rd. He loves cuddles, kisses and tickles. His swiping skills are olympic standard and he wants to be the founder of world peace when he grows up.
Along with my hubby, Daz, we're two ex northerners nestled snuggly on the East Devon coast.
I began my blogging journey in June 2013 when my inspirational yet bonkers friend Sue suggested I put all my money saving tips in a blog. By 2014 I came to the acceptance that I wasn't quite as frugal as my previous thrifty blog was insinuating, so created Mum in a Nutshell to jot down all my thoughts, memories and tips on family life with a baby, tween and teenager.
I hope you, my readers, find it interesting enough to keep coming back and share this crazy journey called parenting with me.
I'm currently on maternity leave but I do have a professional, behave yourself, act serious side as a Children's Outreach Worker. I also teach dinosaurs to dance (just checking you’re still awake).
When I'm not doing mum things, I walk the dog.
I could go on and pretend I have oodles of time for horse riding, rock climbing and scuba diving but I’d soon be rumbled.
My family and blog keep me busy and happy, so until I have a vacancy in my 24/7, I’ll devote my time to what makes me warm fuzzy inside.

Beside, bringing up 3 sons is an extreme sport of its own.
