Unfortunately for them, when it comes to having a giggle at their expense, all sense of decency goes out the window.
So who will it be this week? Well with Christmas round the corner, I'm feeling kind (and don't want to jeopardise any presents that might be coming my way) I've chosen to spare their blushes and go for an old favourite of mine.
It was taken on our annual village regatta week fancy dress competition. A stressful, competitive, competition that is purely about the parents showing off their craft skills and imagination and bears no fun what so ever for the participating children, other than a £1 bribe.
Through rights of passage, we had to endure the pain of fancy dress hell for many years, so be it, we subject our own offspring to the same torture, and I've no doubt they will with their own, one day.
It's one of those village 'things' that just can't be avoided.
After sitting around in a stuffy village hall for what feels like eternity, my son and his cousins, dressed as Mr Men which prevented them from sitting down or having full use of their limbs, startedbuggering about making their own entertainment.
I feel the chaos is captured perfectly.
Oh and yes, we did win, just incase you were wondering.
